I've had bad experience with ordering instruments online, usually they have awful strings and or tuners. Plus, I've heard Mahalo ukes are cheap but ultimately not that good, so I was a little wary when I ordered this one. I was fully prepared to do a lot of work on it. However, when I got this uke it had excellent tuners and strings, and it has an amazing sound. Surprisingly loud (in a good way) and slightly deeper than my soprano. Ultimately, I would strongly recommend this uke. Plus: It looks simply awesome.

My son has a smaller soprano Ukulele made by Mahalo which is very similar in sound quality and less expensive. This one is much "cooler" and being made of wood, has a less toy-like quality to it. He plays this one more often because he likes the feel better. It was definitely worth the money, but you are paying extra for the design.

ReplyDeleteI was amazed at the outstanding craftsmanship and tone quality of this "Starter Kit" Ukulele ! It is obviously made with care and precision, the picture here does not do justice to the use of fine wood, details, and workmanship. I have attached pictures to see it close -up. Also like that it comes with its own carrying case, strap, and cleaning clothes to protect and transport safely as well as picks to strum. The strings are well-made metal not cheap plastic like many "newbie" sets have, and OMGosh you cannot beat the price to help in encouraging a blooming artist who wants to give it a shot to learn an instrument. Really surprised at the quality and value of this instrument. Well, Done!
